 Further details

  1. Synthesis

Interest in both Ammonium Dinitramide (ADN) and 3,4-Dinitropyrazole has led to an increase in publications. A review of technical data will lead to two Limited Reports.

  1. Resonant Acoustic Mixing (RAM) of Energetic Materials

This technology has opened up new areas of formulation science. In collaboration with the nations, a review is being carried out to assess the methodology and safety of processing energetics materials with a RAM leading to a Limited Report.

  1. Supply of Materials

This work element will review the current manufacturers of energetic materials focusing on raw materials; take the survey

  1. Compatibility of Energetic Materials

In support of AC/326 SG/A, current processes and methods for determining compatibility will be reviewed.

  1. Science of Cook-Off

Post workshop (2016) discussions will continue in evaluating the constitutive models, scaling and relationship to AUR, damage mechanisms and rate of heating for cook-off.

  1. Energetic Materials Compendium (EMC)

The Energetic Materials Compendium is a web based database containing fully reference, experimental derived data relating to energetic materials and energetic formulations. The compendium is constantly maintained both by the addition of new results (e.g. detonation pressure for a formulation) and upgrade of the platform to the current web standards.
