Munitions Safety from Cradle-to-Grave

Protection against catastrophic incidents throughout all phases of a munition's life cycle - development, production, transportation, storage, and use or disposal - requires the expertise of the designers and constant vigilance by users.

In addition, the development and fielding of safer munitions contributes to Defence Against Terrorism, one of the highest priorities of NATO. It is a critically important asset in military operations and logistics.

MSIAC provides technical consultancy services to its member nations in the area of munitions safety.

The scope of MSIAC covers Munitions Safety across the total Life Cycle of munitions from 'Cradle-to-Grave

MSIAC is a member funded and directed NATO Project Office focused on the complete life cycle from cradle to grave Munitions Safety (MS), providing technical information and analysis with an emphasis on Insensitive Munitions (IM).

To maximise synergies, a founding principle is that in addition to supporting its member nations, MSIAC will provide support to NATO and its Ammunition Safety Group (AC/326) in programmes of work that address Munitions Safety, Armaments Relations with NATO Partners, Interoperability and Standardization.
