This award recognizes individuals or teams who have made significant contributions to research and engineering in munition safety. Their work may focus on a specific product, technology development effort, weapon system, or technological innovation.
Nominees should have published open technical papers or presented at recognized symposia, such as:
- NDIA IMEMTS (now EMTWG)
- IMEMG Day
- PARARI
- DDESB Seminar
- Other similar industry events
Particular attention is given to technical achievements that have been incorporated into fielded systems, directly enhancing the safety of current fighting forces. This award aims to highlight and share technical successes, fostering greater awareness and collaboration in the munition safety community.
MSIAC Award for Career Achievement
This award honors individuals who have made sustained, long-term contributions to munition safety in areas such as:
- Research & engineering
- Production & procurement
- Fielding & standardization
- Policy & safety advocacy
