Nominees should have published open technical papers or presented at recognized symposia, such as:

- IMEMG Day
- PARARI
- DDESB Seminar
- Other similar industry events
Particular attention is given to technical achievements that have been incorporated into fielded systems, directly enhancing the safety of current fighting forces.
