Dr Michael Sharp
Michael (UK) joined MSIAC on 11 January 2010. He worked first in a Munitions Systems post then took up the role of Project Manager in October 2013.
Michael started working in the field of Energetic Materials in 1992, first at Brunel University, while completing a PhD and postdoctoral research, and then at AWE. In 1998, he worked as the NIMIC Energetic Materials TSO before returning to the UK in 2003.
Michael worked for the UK MOD at the Defence Ordnance Safety Group (DOSG) in Science and Technology on Munition Vulnerability, Insensitive Munitions, Whole Life Assessment, Hazard Classification and Safety Policy. Responsibilities included chairing the UK’s Insensitive Munitions Assessment Panel and being Secretary of the Explosive Storage and Transport Committee.
