Dr. Ernst-Christian Koch
Ernst-Christian graduated from the Technical University of Kaiserslautern/Germany in 1993 and obtained a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry in 1995.
Since 1997 he has been working on the development and production of pyrotechnic countermeasures such as red phosphorus based obscurants and advanced decoy flares with Piepenbrock Pyrotechnik and Comet Pyrotechnik. From 2002-2007 he worked for Diehl as Head of the Energetic Materials Department focussing also on explosive formulations for boosters and warhead charges. Besides being a lecturer for Energetic Materials Chemistry at LMU Munich and TU Kaiserslautern, Ernst-Christian is co-founder of the annual Workshop on Pyrotechnic Combustion Mechanisms and is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the Propellants Explosives Pyrotechnics journal.
Ernst-Christian joined MSIAC in January 2008 as Technical Specialist Officer, Energetic Materials and is now the point of contact for the Energetic Materials Compendium (EMC).
